Annual Scholarship Auction
AUCTIONS SUPPORT AWARDS FOR STUDENTS AND MEMBERS
IFEC’s Annual Auction for Scholarships
The International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) awards scholarships annually to promising students with experience and/or education in the combination of foodservice and the communication arts. Our intent is to encourage the entry of well-qualified individuals into the fields of journalism and public relations within the foodservice industry. This is in keeping with our belief that competent communications professionals make substantial contributions to the welfare and advancement of our industry.
Scholarships are funded by an annual auction that is supported by IFEC members and industry organizations. In addition to student scholarships, auction proceeds help underwrite professional development grants to qualified IFEC members for continuing education activities.
We are grateful to the individuals and organizations who help give back to our industry through donations to our scholarship benefit auction.
Applications and information about qualifications for IFEC Foodservice Communications Scholarships are available on www.ifeconline.com. Students in good standing in a degree-granting program of a post-secondary institution whose studies and work experience combine the fields of foodservice and the communication arts are eligible. Deadline for submitting applications is March 15th.
Awards range in amounts of from $250 - $6,000. Since the scholarship program began in 1990, IFEC has helped more than 100 students realize their career hopes and dreams. Our scholarship recipients hold a variety of positions today, including editor of a major foodservice publication; senior account executive of an influential food public relations agency; publicist/nutrition specialist with a large public relations firm; freelance writer and editor at large specializing in foodservice; foodservice consultant and founder of a national association of research chefs; and food & restaurant writer for a leading consumer food magazine.
IFEC is a non-profit, individual membership association of 250 communications professionals working in and with the foodservice industry media. Through its scholarship program and other educational activities, IFEC aims to encourage high professional standards among those working as journalists and public relations professionals in the foodservice industry.
